Requirements:
Minimum 3 years of recent welding experience, MIG welding skills required, TIG welding a plus.
Brief Description:
Performs metal cutting, surface preparation, brazing, and welding; using saws, presses, gas and electric welding equipment to fabricate propeller meter components or other equipment. Receives instructions, prints and work orders for the job. Plans details of working procedures, tools and material requirements. Fabricates propeller meter components and/or other equipment or structures by cutting, bending, burning and welding various metals. Repairs equipment by using welding techniques and appropriate welding equipment. Cleans and prepares surfaces to be welded. Sets up, assembles and tacks welded parts. Builds up worn or defective surfaces when appropriate. Uses burning equipment and saws to dismantle assemblies or parts and to cut material to size and shape. May be assigned to dismantle or cut up obsolete machinery, setting aside parts for scrap use or disposal. Checks own work for conformance to prescribed standards and measurements using a variety of measuring instruments.
Other:
Ability to read and understand written instructions, specifications, blue prints or work orders required. Ability to drive, or be trained to drive forklift. A proven track record of stability is preferred. Successful completion of recognized welding certification program a plus.
Must be able to pass a Background and Drugscreen
