We have been farming our vineyards since 1984 and are a real working winery, growing and producing over 20 estate grown varietals within certified sustainable facilities.

Summary:
The Tasting Room Manager will create an unparalleled Tasting Room experience, constantly surpassing guest expectations.
With adept management of labor and wine costs, the Manager will drive efficiency and maximize sales of wine, wine club memberships, and merchandise, while leading a team of servers, cashiers, and barbacks.

Responsibilities:
Administrative & Managerial:
Manage three wine tasting locations:
The Tasting Room, The Reserve Room Patio & Deck.
Execute all opening and closing procedures, in accordance with company procedures.
Oversee tour programs including scheduling, pricing, and procedures.
Schedule labor by anticipating business activity and ensure labor cost objectives are met.
Achieve objectives in sales, service, quality, and cleanliness, as set by the General Manager and the Controller.
Implement and uphold proper cash handling and reconciliation procedures to maintain control over cash and other receipts, in accordance with company guidelines.
Monitor departmental sales and costs, on a monthly basis, to conform to budgetary requirements.
Order daily/weekly/monthly Tasting Room supplies as needed, in line with the department budget.
Troubleshoot the POS system, process refunds and gift cards, and input poured bottle inventory into Vin65 at the end of each shift.
Plan and execute Tasting Room events, shopping nights for Wine Club Members and their guests, that will exceed guest expectations.
Data Driven:
Complete all payroll functions including timecards, server rankings, and commission calculations in a timely manner, ensuring accuracy.
Complete Tasting Room Sales Analysis on a monthly basis and communicate results to the General Manager and Controller.
Complete Tasting Room Weekly Report and Server Ranking Report on a weekly basis.
Complete all other Tasting Room Reports in a timely manner.
Merchandising:
Purchase merchandise for the Tasting Room.
Manage merchandise pricing and placement.
Attend merchandise shows semi-annually to purchase merchandise for displays.
Communications:
Work with Wine Production to establish wine pricing and tasting notes, while relaying guest feedback and inventory levels.
Work with the Marketing Department to promote Tasting Room events, promotions, feature wines, etc.
Coordinate with the Facilities department to maintain a clean, presentable, guest and associate-friendly environment.
Department Staffing, Training, and Managing:
Manage the day-to-day operations and staff performance of approximately 35 associates including Servers, Cashiers, Bar Backs, Tour Guides, Limo Attendants, and Merchandising Assistants.
Interview, train, schedule, and coach associates.
Manage performance of all associates including attendance, meal periods, performance, and standards.
Coordinate with HR regarding staff performance, discipline, and terminations.
Conduct quarterly associate meetings to address safety and service standard policies.
Fill in or assist staff where needed to ensure efficient operations.
Counsel associates on how address over-consumption of guests and how to proceed (cut-off).
Adhere to the WISE Academy training and constantly review with associates.
Standards and Policies:
Fully understand and comply with all federal, state, and county regulations that pertain to alcohol consumption safety and labor requirements of the Tasting Room.
Understand and be able to execute Tasting Room emergency response procedures, and provide calm, reassuring assistance to guests and fellow associates in the event of an emergency.
Understand and adhere to the Ponte values and service standards.
Understand and adhere to environmental standards set by the winery.
Continue to find ways to elevate the guest experience and keep Ponte Winery the best in the valley.
You Will Be a Good Fit if You Have the Following:
Bachelor's Degree or seven years of food and beverage, customer serve, or retail management experience; or a combination of education and experience.
Proven experience in a sales environment, including operational budgeting, inventory, supplies, and cost management.
Proven experience of setting and achieving sales goals.
Experience in Vin65, TOCK, ALOHA, POS system setup, data, entry, reporting.
Experience in Outlook, Excel, Word, POS, and Inventory Control System.
Ability and willingness to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods of time.
Ability and willingness to lift, lower, push, carry, or pull up to 40-50 lbs.

Ability and willingness to lift and carry a tray weighing up to 40-50 lbs through a crowded patio.
Ability and willingness to bend, squat, stoop, and climb stairs on a consistent basis.
Ability and willingness to work indoors and outdoors, during inclement weather.

Strong business communication skills.
Ability to obtain and maintain County of Riverside Food Handlers Card.
Ability to obtain and maintain Alcohol and Beverage Control RBS Certification.
Must be able to lift at least 45 pounds (case of wine).
Stand for long periods of time in inclement weather.
Must be 21 years or older.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
