Summary:
The Vineyard Supervisor and Assistant Winemaker will report to the Managing Partner, Winemaker and Vineyard Consultant, and work closely with the Vineyard Foreman on the farming, operations and production of all Ponte and Bottaia Winery wines.
Compensation:
$67,000-$70,000; based on experience Schedule:

Responsibilities:
Vineyard Supervisor Duties:
Report to Vineyard Consultant and follow approved farming and irrigations plans by scheduling labor, following wage and hour laws, payroll procedures, database entries, budgets, and plan changes.
Train workers and require safe use of equipment, vehicles, chemicals, and proper use of personal protective equipment.
Maintain license to spray from Riverside County and complete all documentation and reports as required.
Lead the sustainability audit and mentor worker compliance.
Supervise disking, mowing, spraying, fungicide spraying, sulfuring, canopy control and harvesting focusing on efficiency and fruit quality.
Monitor, record, and report vineyard conditions such as disease, pests and damage.
Maintain equipment in working order, coordinate maintenance, repairs, replacements, and inventory of supplies.
Skilled use of crush pad, filtration, and refrigeration equipment.
Any other duties as directed by the Managing Partner, Winemaker or Vineyard Consultant.
Assistant Winemaker Duties:
Assist the Winemaker and Vineyard Consultant.
Direct operations in the cellar from harvest to bottle.
Follow safety, cleanliness, and quality standards.
Participate and lead Safety Meetings when required.
Ensure compliance with OSHA and CAL OSHA regulations.
Adhere to environmental and sustainability standards.
Work with Cellarmaster and 2-3 wine cellar workers and seasonal interns.
Assist with transfer in bond paperwork and TTB filings.
Maintain accurate records by using Vintrace.
Assist with bulk wine purchases.
Order, track, use and maintain cellar supplies.
Maintain all equipment in working order.
Assist Marketing and Tasting Room department with tasting notes.
Lead tours and educate associates and guests about wine.
Any other duties as directed by the Managing Partner, Winemaker or Vineyard Consultant.
Required:

Lab and polyphenolic chemistry skills.
Computer skills with Outlook, Excel, Vintrace and SureHarvest.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
