We are farming over 200 acres with 22 French and Italian varietals under the Bottaia Winery and Ponte Winery labels.

Bottaia Winery offers estate grown Italian varietals, food and wine pairing, multiple indoor and outdoor tasting areas, a semi-Olympic size pool, with seasonal poolside bar and caf , and one of the finest, expansive mature vineyards in Temecula Wine Country.
Summary:
The Winery Manager will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the Winery and seasonal pool outlet, with the support of the Tasting Room Manager, and will meet the following Key Performance Indicators:
Manage Tasting Room hourly labor to annual budget.
Manage to budgeted net revenue.
Manage to Gross Margin (revenue less cost of goods sold).
Daily collaboration with Human Resources, Wine Club, Marketing, Culinary, Facilities, Housekeeping, and Accounting will be required to run an efficient and profitable DTC operation and meet financial goals.

2 Floating Holidays Schedule:
Wednesday - Sunday at minimum based on business needs.
Weekends, Holidays, Nights Essential Duties and Responsibilities Financial and Communication Acumen:
Assist in setting annual Winery budget based on history, projected sales, and projected expenses.
Contribute to mid-year budget review.
Review monthly tasting room income statements, making necessary adjustments to meet sales goals and stay within budget projections.
Meet monthly and annual tasting room sales and revenue goals.
Produce weekly and monthly sales reports and submit to the winery Controller.
Monitor sales and adjust as needed using discount programs, new releases notices, promotions, and other effective sales tools in conjunction with the marketing department.
Approve and prepare associate time-cards for payroll.
Produce weekly, monthly sales analysis.
Produce and monitor weekly server rankings.
Read and interpret documents, policies, and manuals.
Write routine reports and correspondence to Controller and COO.
Prepare and present financial data to ownership.
Calculate discounts, commissions, simple interest and percentages.
Understand fractions, ratios, and proportions.
Technical Skills:

Understand and enforce the Bottaia Winery Associate Handbook policies and procedures.
Interview train, schedule, direct, coach and counsel associates, in collaboration with Human Resources.
Manage associate complaints, incidents, document and resolve conflicts.
Provide leadership, sales direction, and motivation to front of house.
Work on the floor and consistently display exemplary customer service.
Enforce winery policies, goals, and procedures consistently.
Schedule and conduct regular associate meetings, tastings, seminars, and other events to enhance sales, communication, and teamwork.
Guest Services:
Ensure guest service standards are delivered consistently.
Manage and perform hospitality functions which can include greeting guests, providing tasting and wine education, conducting VIP tours, and assisting associates with excellent guest service experiences.
Coordinate trade, wine club, large group, and other visits with other department managers to ensure high-quality service and accommodation.
Ensure retail merchandise displays are fully stocked and promote the facility, increase revenue and enhance the overall consumer experience.
Maintain an adequate inventory of wine and gift items.
Maintain an inviting, organized, clean and fully stocked tasting room at all times.
Monitor supplies and purchase as needed.
Handle guest and associate incident reports and submit.
Marketing and Events:
Create Annual Marketing Budget and Calendar with the Wine Club and Marketing Team.
Work with Marketing on weekly social and email launches.
Monitor Website for accuracy and submit edits as needed.
Ensure consistent and appropriate brand messaging.
Professionally represent Bottaia at community, media, networking, and other industry organizations.
Wine Production:
Know and be able to present the full line of varietals to members, guests and media including tasting notes and varietal history.
Work with the Wine Production Manager, Winemaker and Wine Club Manager with Allocation management.
Additional Functions:
Comply with all company safety policies and procedures.
Participate in safety training and report all unsafe conditions or work practices.
Perform additional duties as directed by the COO or Controller.
Necessary Skills:
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
10 years' experience in customer service related to hospitality, wine, or tasting room experience.
10 years' experience supervising multiple teams.
Apply common sense understanding to multiple tasks, analyze and solve practical problems, and prioritize.
Proven prior sales performance.
Sound knowledge of wine.
Strong written, verbal and presentation skills.
Attention to small and large details.
Prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
Train, develop and maintain a high performing sales team.
Demonstrate strong computer skills and knowledge of point of sale.
Handle confidential and sensitive information.
Stand for long periods of time.
Obtain server's permit and valid food handler's permit for the state of California.
Follow California health and food safety protocol and ensure all associates are properly licensed and consistently follow all health, alcohol and food safety standards and protocols.
Lift items up to 40 lbs.
Work in inclement outdoor weather.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
